MODULE 3: Tonal Gradient Swatch
Don’t let the simplicity of this exercise fool you; values are THE most important aspect of a watercolor painting — even more so than color. Get familiar with your paints and it’s tonal possibilities in this module.
MODULE 4: Painting the Background
Learn to apply the wet-on-wet technique to an entire page. Trupti will show you how to work in layers to create mist and clouds, which are the foundation of this piece.
MODULE 5: Sketching the Outline
Learn how to combine reference photos and the basic rules of composition to sketch a basic outline before painting your trees.
MODULE 6: Pine Tree Brushstrokes
Before you jump into painting the trees, Trupti will show you how to paint them in her loose-but-realistic style. Students have said this exercise alone is worth more than the price of this class!
MODULE 7: Background Trees
Learn how to get that misty look where your trees or other landscape elements just disappear into the fog! This is a fun technique that you can apply to so many landscape elements.
MODULE 8: Foreground Trees
Learn how to create the foreground trees with a few simple rules for achieving a random, natural look.
MODULE 9: Eagle
Complete the painting by adding an eagle (or several smaller birds)! Trupti will show you how in this module.
